Christmas Things To Do

December 2nd to 4th: Christmas in the Country at St. Francisville!

Nothing is more quaint than celebrating Christmas in the countryside. Here in Baton Rouge you can take a little jaunt into the hills to enjoy refreshments and entertainment all weekend at area shops. Enjoy a drive through the Historic District at dark to experience the entire town outlined in white lights. The event kicks off with the lighting of the Town Tree on Friday, Breakfast with Santa on Saturday morning, an old-fashioned Christmas Parade on Sunday at 2pm, and a variety of other activities in between, including:

  • Vendor booths selling jewelry, photographs, paintings, honey, T-shirts, calendars, and much more.
  • Food booths
  • Musical performances
  • Poets
  • Cooking demonstrations
  • And more!

* Admission is free, but there may be some cost associated with special events.

December 6th; December 16th; and December 20 (5:00pm-9:00pm):  Christmas Marketplace Days!

On three different December nights, when the American Queen docks at Nottoway, a Christmas Marketplace will be held! Come enjoy a night of shopping and fantastic sights!

  • Time: 1 - 6 pm
  • Vendors selling arts, crafts, and holiday merchandise
  • Bonfires on the Levee
  • Fireworks
