Diane O'Connor Retiring at the End of 2022

It is with mixed emotions that we announce Diane O'Connor’s decision to retire at the end of 2022. We are excited for her as she takes well-deserved time to spend with her family, but we are saddened that we are losing a valued member of our team. It’s hard to put into words what Diane has meant to our office and to all the patients she has cared for over the years. She infused a spark of positive energy into our practice and her kind and caring demeanor sustained our practice through the best times and the challenging times. Her selfless dedication to patient care will not easily be replaced and will be sorely missed.

Diane has been with Jason D. Hutto, DDS for 21 years and with Dr. Ourso for nine years before that. Her career expands more than 45 years in dental hygiene. She developed her interest in dental hygiene while working for the American Military Community as the Oral Health Manager in Karlsruhe, Germany. Diane is a dental hygiene graduate of the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Dentistry where she was president of her class. She was later honored as one of the Top 40 Alumnae. She has served as president of both the Louisiana Dental Hygienist’s Association and the Baton Rouge Dental Hygienist’s Association.

Her volunteer service to the Baton Rouge community includes serving as President of Woman’s Hospital Auxiliary and Baton Rouge Cotillion as well as numerous roles in St. Aloysius Catholic Church including two terms on the Parish Council. She plans to continue her volunteer services upon her retirement as a full-time hygienist. She has kindly offered to work part-time for any fill in needs our office may have or need.

We are fortunate that our part-time hygienist since 2018, Lea Anne Lane, has decided to transition to full-time with our practice to continue the high caliber of care our patients are accustomed to.
